Vincent Lam, who won the Scotiabank Giller Prize in 2006, has been shortlisted for the 2012 Governor General Literary Awards for his novel The Headmaster?s Wager.
The other shortlisted author?s for the fiction prize are: Tamas Dobozy for Siege 13; Robert Hough for Dr. Brinkley?s Tower; Carrie Snyder for The Juliet Stories; Linda Spalding for The Purchase. Dobozy and Spalding are also shortlisted for the Writers? Trust Fiction Prize.
Zoomer contributor Noah Richler was nominated in the Non-Fiction category for What We Talk About When We Talk About War. The other nominees were: Nahlah Ayed for A Thousand Farewells:A Reporter?s Journey from Refugee Camp to the Arab Spring; Carol Bishop-Gwyn for The Pursuit of Perfection: A Life of Celia Franca; Wade Davis for Into the Silence: The Great War, Mallory, and the Conquest of Everest; and Ross King for Leonardo and the Last Supper.
